R&D Project on Artificial Intelligence in ATC awarded

ATRiCS together with Fraport AG, University of Saarland and the DLR have been awarded an R&D project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research to examine methods for the safe use of Artificial Intelligence in air traffic control. Using speech recognition as an example in a highly automated routing and guidance system environment, a framework will be developed to contain the AI component and to manage its impact on safety.

Results will be available in 2022 and will be published after the closing of the research period. The project has legally started on April 1st and partners plan to kick the project off in May.
